Before Your Appointment:

Please ensure that you have completed the permission form which will have been emailed to you after booking your appointment. This form requires you to provide your horse’s full medical history. If your horse is currently undergoing any veterinary treatment, there is a section for your vet to sign, confirming that I have permission to treat your horse under the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966.

Important:
If your horse is lame or has any infection or wounds less than 7 days old, I will not be able to treat them, as this could worsen their condition. If you're unsure whether this applies to your horse, please feel free to contact me for clarification.

Before your appointment, please make sure your horse is clean and dry, as dirt and moisture can make treatment more difficult and less effective.

What to Expect:

Initial treatments usually take around 1.5 hours, sometimes slightly longer depending on findings. At the start, I will review your horse’s medical history and ask about any concerns you may have. If your horse is ridden, I may also request to see the tack.

You’ll need to have someone available to walk and trot your horse, as well as hold them during treatment. If your horse is calm and settled, they may be tied up during some parts of the session. However, for treatments like stretching, your horse will need to be held, as it is not safe for them to be tied.

Follow-Up Treatments:

Follow-up sessions typically take about an hour, depending on my findings. I will check for any changes since the last visit and take time to discuss any new concerns or progress with you.

Aftercare:

You will receive a report via email after both initial and follow-up appointments. This may include recommended aftercare exercises.

Please ensure your horse is given at least 24 hours off following treatment. This is important, as the effects of treatment continue after the session and your horse needs time to process and heal.
